Beloved Seattle dog walker, 80, killed in broad daylight carjacking before eight-time felon fatally stabbed her pooch: police

Jahmed Haynes, 48, is suspected of carjacking Ruth Dalton, 80, near the junction of Martin Luther King Junior Method East and East Harrison Road in the Madison Valley community, 2.8 miles northeast of Downtown Seattle, just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to Seattle authorities.

At around 3 p.m. Tuesday, police got a record of a guy “harming a canine” at the Brighton Playfield in the Hillman City area, roughly 5.5 miles from where the carjacking took place. KOMO News

“She is somebody that individuals truly liked, and she’s been a neighborhood fixture in the Madison Park area for a long period of time,” claimed Susan Lindsay, Dalton’s good friend informed KOMO. “She (is) going to be so missed out on, and people really loved her.”

“I wish she goes to tranquility. We all love her, everyone loves her, and I understand she’s overlooking,” Melanie Roberts, Dalton’s granddaughter, told the outlet. “She was lively. It does not amaze me in the least that she would certainly attempt to ensure her customer’s pet dogs were safe. She would not have actually believed 2 secs regarding herself.”

SPD Deputy Principal Eric Barden says Haynes had entered into the traveler side of Dalton’s blue Subaru SUV and attempted to push her out of the motorist’s door while at least two canines were inside the automobile.
